Uttar Pradesh Solar Net Metering Consumer Guide Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulation Commission aims to create many solar schemes to maximize the use of renewable source of energy .  According to the Draft UP Solar Power Policy-2017, the state government has also proposed to meet the target of generating 10,700 MW solar power. This includes 4,300 MW from rooftop solar projects, by financial year 2022. India's Solar Capacity from 6 Mw in 2009 has reached to 20 Gw by Jan'2018

Indian Solar industry has achieved goal from 6 Mw in 2009 has reached to 20 Gw cumulative Solar capacity  by Jan'2018. This achievement comes of major push to renewable energy by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi. According to the latest research by green market tracker Mercom Capital , the utility scale cumulative solar installation now stand at approximately  18.4 Gw and roof-top capacity 1,6 Gw. The leading states in Solar Installation are Telangana, Rajasthan, Gujra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
